Women’s libido is a difficult topic to tackle. Often, people feel uncomfortable talking to their friends and partners because we have been taught to keep it to ourselves. We see women in movies and pornography in ecstasy and internalize that there is something wrong with us if we do not feel that way.
We don’t put nearly as much time, energy or money into the epidemic that is women’s low libido like we do for men.
All the while, at least 50% of us are suffering.
Do we need more money to study women’s libido?
Do we need more research on women’s libido?
Do we need to change our mindset and understand that low libido in women is a HEALTH problem?
Do we need to solve that problem with a “Little Pink Pill”?
Even if we threw millions of dollars and put the world’s best minds to the task, there is still no way we could develop a pill that works for women’s sexual dysfunction like Viagra and Cialis work for men.
If I have learned one thing in my years practicing in women’s health, it’s this. There is never just 1 reason women are experiencing low libido. It is a complicated combination of many factors, some that are completely out of our control.
To name a few:
Ok, you get the point.
There is no pill that is EVER going to solve all of these problem’s for women so that we can freely experience pleasure. And frankly, it’s easier to just never have sex again than it is to do the work to unravel all of the negativity that surrounds our libido and desire for sex and pleasure.
But I am fighting for more. I am fighting for women to do the work and change their mindset so they can have a better future.
A future with pleasure, happiness, better health, and of course, good sex.
